Surprisingly, the biggest obstacle to cross-country travel in Saguaro country is vegetation! Early spring brings a blanket of grasses, wildflowers, and blooming bushes and cacti. The thorny bushes seemingly reach out of nowhere to snag my skin and clothing – the most vicious of which is Catclaw Acacia, also known as Wait-a-Minute Bush.
